Supergirl 75th Anniversary Cover?

Check out Comic Box Commentary regarding the possibility of a commemorative cover for DC Comics’ 75th anniversary.

Now the plan is for there to be a special 75th Anniversary Supergirl cover as well. We have talked about iconic Supergirl covers in the past here. But which cover should be the homage cover on which the variant cover is based? I have come up with a couple of ideas …

Giantess Superheroine

Like any red-blooded male I like superheroine sex comics, though I guess I haven’t really written much about them here.

There’s one called UltraFem that I just learned about from reading this giantess blog. I like the art and the premise of the comic. She’s 6’4″ to start with but can grow up to 50 feet in height, and she only became a superhero when she was forced to quit fashion modeling because her breasts got too big. (I love it when that happens!)

I haven’t seen any of the UltraFem pay comics so I can’t give a review. But if the art quality is consistent they’re probably at least nice to look at!

Big Bang Theory in Superhero Drag

Well, I guess it is what it is. I like “Big Bang Theory” but the whole guys-in-drag-as-superheroines concept makes me sad.

From Entertainment Weekly:

Big Bang Theory executive producer Bill Prady wouldn’t reveal why the show’s geek squad ends up in “superheroine drag” in the April 12 episode — that’s Simon Helberg as Batgirl, Jim Parsons as Wonder Woman, Johnny Galecki as Supergirl, and Kunal Nayyar as Catwoman — but it’s safe to say it involves the return of Sheldon’s arch-nemesis, Evil Wil Wheaton.

Taylor Swift to play Supergirl!?

There’s fresh gossip about Taylor Swift being cast as Supergirl! One site, Hollyscoop, is reporting that the adorable country music star is in consideration for the role of Kara from Krypton!

Taylor Swift is already a super girl in her own right, but she may be playing the role of the comic book hero in the near future! Sources say the singing sensation is up for the lead role in Supergirl! The Love Story.

Hollywood producers are reportedly very interested in Taylor playing the Girl of Steel for the remake of the 1984 movie, which was actually a big flop at the box office.

She certainly looks the part!
